2025 Mandatory Assessment Details
Little League requires that all players
(for MAPS through Intermediate)
be assessed prior to being placed on a team for the season.
T-ball & Rookies do NOT participate in assessments
Details for the upcoming season assessments are below.
• Date: Saturday, January 11th, 2024
• Time: See below
• Location: Community Park, Field 2 (CP2) (Lower Field in NW Corner)
Times
Assessments typically take place between 8am and 5pm on that Saturday. The exact times depend on how many players we have per division. They start with older divisions and work their way down. Majors/Intermediates go as early as 8AM followed by Uppers, Lowers, and MAPS with a finish time of mid/late-afternoon.
We highly recommend that you make the primary day assessments. Makeup assessments will be available (Details TBD) but keep in mind that they usually occur during the mid-week in the early evening which means the kids are assessing under the lights after dark - which will be a new/different experience for many.
How does it work
Players are assessed in groups of roughly a dozen at a time. Groups are identified by their scheduled start time. Each group's assessment lasts roughly 15 to 20 minutes. Players will field two fly balls and make throws from the outfield, field two ground balls at shortstop and throw to first, hit five pitches off a pitching machine, run the bases... and have fun!
*New for 2025: Players assessing for Upper Minors or Majors will also do a pitching assessment. After fielding both ground balls at shortstop, they will throw five pitches in the bullpen. After they complete the bullpen, they will get ready to hit.
Equipment
Your player should be dressed in baseball attire and ready to play. Your player will need a glove, hat, cleats, a helmet, protective cup, and a bat [USA approved bats (MAPS through Intermediate) or BBCOR (Intermediate and Juniors only)].
Either way, we will keep you updated as the details become more finalized. If you have any questions about assessments, please send an email to
[email protected]
